EXTRA FEATURES

Lightning Storm has five bonus rounds, as well as two betting options called the Storm Chaser and X Chaser.

Storm & X Chasers

These two are options you wager on before the start of the round. The Storm Chaser places a chip on the Lightning Storm bonus round segment on the grid, which is there to signal your participation in the round (if it’s won and you get to see Lightning Storm Bonus round). The X Chaser means you will see the game automatically cover the segments that either contain Multipliers and Bonus Symbols.

Hot Spot

This bonus round has a massive multiplier wall where multipliers are grouped by value. They form a ‘hot spot’ where they have the highest value next to each other. They are then hidden and shuffled. Your task is to pick a tile on the wall that you consider to have the highest multiplier. Then, a 3×3 highlighted area beings circling the grid, going in all directions. If it lands atop the tile you’ve chosen, the multiplier you’ve chosen previously will be doubled in size. Moreover, if you had a Lightning Multiplier from the base game, it is applied too. The highest you can win in the game is 10,000x.

Monster Mash

This is a 3-reel game with horizontal reels. Each reel represents a part of the body of Frankenstein’s Monster. Your task is to create a monster that has the strength of the total given multiplier. You have three reels representing head, torso, and legs, each with an assigned multiplier. You can collect either Regular Multipliers, which adds to the total multiplier; or Global, which is added to all multipliers. You don’t do anything here, the ost pulls the lever, when the reels start turning. They then stop to reveal a combination of the monster legs, torso and head, which then creates a monster with the multiplier. The highest possible win here is 10,000x.

Battery Charger

Battery Charger lets you charge your multiplier up to 10,000x. The host rotates a mini wheel which triggers a conveyor belt with 10 batteries. Out of these 10, only one has a Global Multiplier (the rest have Regular). The Global Multiplier doubles the values  of batteries remaining on the belt. The wheel spin determines whether the batteries from the conveyor belt fall into the charger or not.  If it stops on the red part of the wheel, the battery is overcharged and explodes, so a new battery from the belt appears. A stop on the grid with a Regular Multiplier gets you said multiplier applied to your win. The same thing but with a Global Multiplier doubles all Multiplier values on the belt. The game ends with only one Multiplier on the belt which is your Multiplier.

Fireball

This is a wall enclosure that contains 149 pockets on the floor. The host throws in a ball that lands into one of the pockets. There are two types of pockets: Regular and Double. Landing on a Regular means that Multiplier is your prize. If it lands on a Double, all pocket values are doubled, and the ball is dropped again. This can go on until you hit the 10,000x cap.

Lightning Storm

Finally we have Lightning Storm, which is a gigantic billboard with 8 Regular and 3 Double Multipliers.  The win is capped at 20,000x which is the highest possible win in the entire game. In this round, lightning strikes thrice. At the beginning of the round, you choose one of the three offered strikes. You get the payout that is the result of one of the strikes (if you wagered on it). Once it strikes, it will move around the grid, stopping on some Multipliers. Again, you don’t do anything, it’s all the host’s job.

SIMILAR GAMES

If we’re being completely honest, no game can compare to Lightning Storm. Simply, not one does it as good as Evolution. So, their main competition are themselves! You can try these games if you want a taste of live game shows but are unsure of how to best enjoy it.

OUR EXPERIENCE WITH LIGHTNING STORM

It’s a good one, really. The game has 5 different bonus rounds, which is bound to be the very best feature of the game. The looks are spectacular and crisp, something we really love.

All in all, a good recommendation. We are well aware that not all players are into highly risky gameplay and maybe won’t be too invested in playtime, but the game is a continuation of the legacy Crazy Time left. Sure, the game has nothing to do with Crazy Time in terms of theme and bonus rounds, but the fact that it’s so bonus game-oriented means it’s meant to be as crazy as Crazy Time. Perhaps even crazier.
