Game features in Kingdom Below include three modifiers and Free Spins.

Modifiers

The floating Beast atop the grid activates one of three modifiers.

• Grab Feature
• Slide N Grab
• Under Reel

The Grab Feature collects all prizes that land on the grid below the beast. With Slide N Grab, the beast will collect all prizes from the grid, but there’s also a Multiplier that applies to all prizes. The size of the Multiplier is equal to the number of reels that contained prizes. Lastly, with Under Reel, the beast will pull a mystery prize from below the grid. The prize can be either a prize, a worthless blank, or a Scatter (but this happens only in Free Spins).

Free Spins

Three Scatters produce 10 Spins.

Before spins start, you get to Pick a Fire, or pick one of 8 modifiers.  Each modifier has an upgraded form, too.

Here are the regular Modifiers: +5 spins, More Grab triggers, More Grab symbols, More Slide N Grab triggers, No Lowest Pay Symbols, 1 Grab per Free Spin, 2x Grab Multiplier, 1 Random Grab Symbol Turns Sticky.

With upgraded versions, you get +10 spins, More Grab triggers with 2x Multiplier, More Slide N Grab with 2x Multiplier, More Grab Symbols and 2 Lowest Icons removed, 3 Lowest Symbols removed per spin, Grab Multiplier is 5x, up to 2 Random Grab Symbols Turn Sticky.

You can have up to 4 active modifiers per round, but you cannot have a regular and upgraded versions of the same modifier active at the same time.

During Free Spins, you have a 12-position trail, where you progress by collecting Scatters. To collect a Scatter, it needs to be on the same reel as the Beast.

With each progress level, you get perks. On level 2, 6, and 10, you get extra modifier picks, while levels 4, 8, and 12 give you +10 spins. There are also Multipliers for every progress (2x, 3x, or 10x).

The highest number of Spins you can have in the round equals 50.

OUR EXPERIENCE WITH KINGDOM BELOW

A solid one from Play’n GO, albeit a bit of a mix-and-match of different games from the provider. It’s okay, though, that has become a running theme amongst developers.

What we did enjoy is the game’s interesting theme, or rather, spin on traditional beast-hell theme. The floating beast that is more cartoonish and playful is a good idea. Then the features were lively, we had fun trying them out. Still, we would have liked if the game chose whether it’s going to be either medium or high variance, as right now it might be credited as medium-high but it’s definitely leaning towards high a bit more.
