Round Head Icon Gina - November 18, 2022

Inductees of The Women in Poker Hall of Fame 2022 have been announced. This year, Jennifer Tilly and Vanessa Selbst are among the four fantastic women recognized for their achievements. The other two powerful women who made it on the list are Terry King and Angelica Hael. The announcement was made on November 15th which is four years since the last inductees were added to the Hall of Fame.

Familiar Faces

Fans of tournaments will definitely recognize two of this year’s inductees. Vanessa Selbst is a former pro, now working as a trader. Although she does not frequent the tournaments like she used to, she is still top of the women’s all-time money list with $11.9 million in tournament earnings.

In addition to winning more money than any other woman at this point, she has three WSOP bracelets, as well as EPT and NAPT titles. Combined with a formidable reputation as an online cash game player, Selbst has long been a lock for the Women in Poker Hall of Fame.

Jennifer Tilly is a former Hollywood star, who dominates the tables with fellow pro partner Phil Laak. Tilly also boasts an impressive resume, being one of the most prominent females in poker for more than a decade. Alongside countless appearances on televised poker shows, Tilly has over $1 million in tournament cashes. In addition, she also has WSOP and WPT titles.

Queens of Poker

Women in Poker Stars

The two other influential faces who earned a place in the Hall of Fame are Terry King and Angelica Hael. King, has been referred to as the queen of poker on multiple occasions (no pun intended). She has been playing since the 1970s, winning the WSOP Ladies event in 1978. Furthermore, King was one of the first women to deal cards in the $10,000 WSOP Main Event. She has worked at prominent poker rooms across the US, including the Bicycle Club.

Last, but not least, is Angelica Hael. Like other influential women in gambling, Hael has been at the forefront of one of the industry’s largest companies for more than a decade. She started as a dealer at Crown Casino in Australia before joining Partypoker as a marketing and player development manager. She has been a part of the World Poker Tour since 2010. Now, she works as a VP of Global Tour Management at the WPT.
